Climate Care - for when you take to the air

I was going to do a write-up on this site, but frankly, I can't say it any better than they can. Basically, if you fly on vacation, and want to make an impact - no matter WHERE you go - then read all about this site.

Did you know that the biggest environmental impact of your holiday will be the flight? This is because emissions from aeroplanes are major contributors to climate change. Climate Care is an organisation which enables you, the traveller, to repair the damage that your air travel does to the climate. Your contribution will fund projects that reduce emissions by the same amount as your flight creates, making your flight “climate neutral.” The money is invested in projects such as renewable energy and reforestation which either reduce emissions at source or absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. The work of Climate Care is scrutinised by an Environmental Steering Committee, which includes members of leading NGOs such as WWF. The Committee ensures the projects deliver the environmental benefits they claim. Explore Worldwide offsets all of the emissions from its staff flights, office and operations. It also makes every effort to reduce the impact of your holidays on the environments and communities you visit. Now Explore are offering you the chance to repair the biggest impact of your holiday – the flight. Just click on the Air Travel Calculator link to find out how much your flight adds to global warming and how little it costs to offset. By offsetting the CO2 emissions from your air travel you can be sure your journey isn’t adding to global warming.
